Is bicycle transport in the car fuel-saving?

Yes, Tranzbag is the most ecological way for the transport of bicycles in a car. Wind tunnel tests have shown that 1-3 liters of fuel can be saved over 100 kilometers, if bicycles are transported in the car instead of on the roof or at the hatch. Racks on roof/trunk/hatch are always causing quite a drag. This drag causes remarkable gasoline or diesel extra costs. Tranzbag users save those costs.

What must be dismantled to transport bicycles in a Tranzbag?

For Tranzbag models ORIGINAL, PRO, ROAD, E-VELO and AIR only the front wheel has to be removed. All other parts remain on or in the bike.

The model Tranzbag E-VELO. The foldable E-VELO Tranzbag folds as a hip bag and weighs 1.45 kilograms. It accommodates all types of electric bicycles from E-MTB to electric Velos. Its maximum carrying capacity is 70kg. The Tranzbag E-VELO is the ultra-robust electric bicycle-transportation bag.

Which bag is suitable for air transport?

The Tranzbag AIR is made for air transport.
The Tranzbag AIR is the only bicycle transport bag with whom the bike can be carried without removing the rear wheel. Bicycles are travel-ready within 10 minutes. The self-supporting air-technology of the Tranzbag AIR ensures that your bike is fully protected during a transport. Does the Tranzbag AIR require the handlebar or rear wheel to be removed?

Only the front wheel is dismantled and stowed away into the side compartment. Tranzbag AIR is the only bicycle transport bag neither the rear wheel nor the handlebar and stem have to be removed. (The Tranzbag AIR fits 99% of all types of bicycles)

Tipp
For XXL bicycle frames Tranzbag recommends to deflate the rear tire in the Tranzbag AIR (plus 4 cm of additional space). For XXL enduro-forks Tranzbag recommends to deflate the rear tire and the fork.

How to pump Tranzbag AIR?

With any presta valve bicycle pump.

Tipp
Whenever you pump your Tranzbag AIR for the first time, just semi-inflate the four air chambers, then knead the tubes as you would knead a new tube in your bicycle tire. Then deflate the air channels completely, then pump them up to max 1 bar of pressure.

Fatbikes should usually fit into the Tranzbag ORIGINAL and the Tranzbag PRO. Worst case, the deflating method must be applied: Deflate tyres. This makes the tyre more "packable" and ads more space.

Tipp
Built-in compartment for front wheel does not fit inflated Fatbike tyres. Please do fix your front tire along the frame with a Tranzstrap. Check www.tranzbag.com.

Can Tranzbag be used in international rail traffic?

Yes, Tranzbag is the ORIGINAL door opener for almost every public transportation system all over Europe. First in place, in the Tranzbag bicycles can be transported anywhere in Europe.

Very rarely private railway corporations refuse the transport of bicycles even if the bicycle is packed in a Tranzbag.

Can Tranzbag be used in high-speed trains?

Basically, all bicycles transported in the Tranzbag become a piece of luggage. Our 25 years of experience show that Tranzbag is highly accepted as well on high-speed trains.

Can a trekking bike with fenders and racks be accommodated in a Tranzbag?

In the Tranzbag PRO and ORIGINAL, bikes with luggage carriers may be stowed as well. If there is a mudguard, the stem has to be loosened slightly and turned 90 degrees. Handlebar and stem can then be turned 90degrees lengthwise, while the fork and the mudguard remain straight ahead.

Tipp
Always cover and protect the sharp fender ends with cork pins or cut-in-half PET bottles at the front and back end of your mudguards. This avoids damages and holes in the bags super-durable ribstop-nylon.

Does the Tranzbag serve as hotel room access? As overnight garage? As sleeping bag?

Cyclists often use their Tranzbags overnight as a bicycle garage. Just put it upside down over your bike. Make as well a cover for your sleeping bags, you will love it one day!
